HURRICANE IKE

Yea! We have electricity! We arrived home about 10 pm and realized there are lights in The Woodlands and there were lights on in our home. We have been without electricity since early Saturday (6:20 am), I know because we were up watching the trees bow down to "hurricane ike" and sway. This was our first time to not evacuate for a hurricane, since we live about 60 miles from the coast, we felt it wasn't necessary to leave. It was really scary at times, but I am glad we stayed.

God was so faithful to protect us and our home. We went through so much with "hurricane rita" I guess He figured we didn't need anymore trees on our home. Although  we are fine, there are so many disheartening stories all over Texas and so much loss. These families will need our support and our love to get them through the months ahead.

After the winds passed, we took in the mess before us. Broken limbs, branches, bushes uprooted, my plumeria laying on it's side.  We all walked around the neighborhood to check on our neighbors and friends. We pulled together, Steve with his chainsaw and several other men helped each other remove huge trees off of cars and fences. By the next day Steve had my garden looking lush , trees staked (even my plumeria), grass mowed and limbs piled high by the roadside. So, we are so blessed to live in this community!
